Doug is currently celebrating over 40 years in the financial services business. Doug is a life-time qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table. He has achieved the Chartered Financial Consultant (CHFC), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) accreditations. Doug developed the Virtual Benefits Model as a self insured Health and Dental Plan. He specializes in planning all aspects of your financial matters, including savings accumulation, retirement, estate, corporate structure and business succession planning.
Doug is an avid golfer and skier. He also enjoys spending time boating in the summer and playing hockey in the winter. Doug enjoys spending time with his wife, Carol, their two children, Justin and Taryn, and their grandchildren.
Jessica Birch

Jessica came to Bumstead Financial in 2017 as Doug's executive assistant. She graduated from University of Guelph with a B.A in Sociology, and has acquired both her life license and mutual funds license since. Jessica comes from a banking background but discovered she enjoyed a more administrative approach to selling.
Jessica spends much of her free time with her family and enjoys activities such as teaching her son new things and cooking.

Justin specializes in our Virtual Benefits Program. He has been with Bumstead Insurance since 2004. Helped Bumstead Insurance achieve Chairman's Club 2018-current, Platinum Club 2008-2017 Gold 2006, 2007.
Enjoys working with businesses to help provide a cost effective approach to Group Benefit plans.
Justin was born and raised in our local community, enjoys playing golf, being on the water, playing hockey, and being out keeping busy as much as possible with his family.
Taryn joined Bumstead Financial Services Inc. in 2012, after graduating from the Business Administration Financial Planning program offered through Conestoga College. Through this program she completed her Canadian Securities Course, as well as her Life License Qualification Program. Outside of school she has attained her Provincial Life License and her Certified Financial Planner accreditation.
Outside of work, Taryn enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also has a passion for fitness and travelling.
Krystal Olender

Krystal is currently completing the Business Administration- Accounting program through Algonquin College. She lives in Saugeen Shores and sits on Northport School Community Council and Fundraising sub-committee. Krystal likes to spend her free time outdoors with her husband and three children, experiencing all Grey & Bruce counties have to offer.

Logan Vermilyea
Administrative Assistant
Logan is excited to be starting her career in the finance and insurance field at Bumstead. She is currently completing the Canadian Securities Course and plans to continue taking on learning opportunities that complement her work.
Outside of the office, Logan enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She is interested in various activities such as hiking, camping, and having campfires. As well Logan plays on soccer, slo-pitch, and ringette teams all based in Owen Sound.
Ayla has had an administrative background for more than ten years. Currently training to specialize in Group Benefits, she is eager to support local businesses and their employees.
After returning to Grey County where she was raised, Ayla joined the local art and fine craft scene as a potter. She spends a great deal of her spare time out of doors with her family.
